In this lesson, our friend Max the monkey helps children master the art of rounding. This sheet teaches pupils how to use a visual number line to identify which multiple of ten a number is closest to. By visualising the position of numbers between tens, children learn to decide whether to round up or down.
This exercise is a vital part of our progression. After working on place value to 100, understanding rounding helps children develop a stronger sense of number magnitude. By completing Maths Track Level 3A Sheet 15 — Round to the nearest 10: use a number line to round 3 numbers, your child will move from simply recognising numbers to manipulating them with greater flexibility.
