Free 3a Track Sheet | Kindergarten ELA Practice | BookFlik

Welcome to the BookFlik learning journey. We are delighted to support your child as they build confidence in their reading. This resource is ELA Track Level 3A Sheet 2 — Read short ‘a’ CVC: bag, tag, rag, nag, wag. Designed specifically for Kindergarten learners, this activity focuses on blending sounds to read simple consonant-vowel-consonant words.
By working through ELA Track Level 3A Sheet 2 — Read short ‘a’ CVC: bag, tag, rag, nag, wag, your child will practice identifying the short ‘a’ vowel sound in the middle of words. This is a vital step in phonics, helping children move from individual letter sounds to reading whole words fluently. This sheet follows on from our earlier work on initial letter sounds and acts as a bridge towards reading simple sentences.
Once your child has mastered these words, they will be able to blend and segment short ‘a’ patterns with ease, which boosts their ability to decode more complex stories. Our friend Pip the caterpillar is here to cheer them on as they collect these new words! We recommend completing the sheet in a quiet, comfortable space. With steady practice, your child will soon be reading these words with confidence and pride. Happy reading!
